Transport operators and their employees have expressed renewed optimism about the speedy completion of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano expressway, following the intervention of Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani.

In an issued statement yesterday, the Kaduna State chairman of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Hon. Adamu Zubairu Jalaludeen, praised Governor Sani for meeting with the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, to fast-track the completion of the project.
Jalaludeen, who also serves as RTEAN’s North-West vice-president, described the expressway as a major gateway to the North-West and North-East geo-political zones, critical for trade and movement across the region.
He noted that the governor’s pro-active approach and engagement with the Federal Government had inspired confidence among stakeholders within the transport sector. According to him, Governor Uba Sani’s decision to personally meet with the Minister of Works on this issue has endeared him to all stakeholders in the transport value chain.
Recall that Governor Sani had on Friday met with Engr. Umahi to review progress on the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano expressway as part of efforts to enhance intergovernmental collaboration and ensure timely delivery of the project.
Discussions at the meeting focused on accelerating work on the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna section of the expressway, a vital transport corridor relied upon daily by millions of Nigerians for business, travel, and social connectivity.
Governor Sani described the project as a national artery that plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s socio-economic integration and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, which aims to modernise infrastructure and promote economic competitiveness.
